The Brigade consists of brass, woodwind, percussion and dance guard. It meets 1st (Fall) semester and performs at all home football games, as well as field show tournaments; parades; and other events.

Requirements include attendance at summer classes & band camp, as well as being enrolled in another music ensemble or dance guard class for the full school year. The course name is “P.E. Band” and will fulfill one semester of the P.E. requirement.

The Brigade meets weekly; Mondays  from 2:30-4:30 PM, Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:30-8:30 PM, and Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:12-4:12PM. On game weeks, the class meets at regular schedule on Monday and Tuesday; Wednesday changes to 5:30-8:30PM; and no class meeting on Thursday or Friday. Additional  rehearsals may be scheduled throughout the season, please refer to the Band Department Calendar.

Marching Brigade teaches many things, including leadership & student cooperation. It is a great way for incoming freshmen to instantly become a part of the Highlander family upon entering high school.

Academic eligibility will determine a student’s ability to participate in the Marching Brigade. If you are ineligible at the start of fall semester you will be allowed in the class but removed from certain aspects of the activity (not have a spot in the field show, etc.). Please arrange all appointments, etc. around the class schedule. If you miss the Thursday night class before a performance (for any reason) you will be unable to perform at the following performance. You will still be expected to attend the performance.

Call sheets for all performances are posted on the Forms and Documents Page.
