Royal Highland Brigade Drum Major
    The Brigade consists of brass, woodwind, percussion and dance guard. It meets 1st semester and performs at all home football games, field show tournaments & parades. Requirements include attendance to summer classes & band camp, as well as being enrolled in another music ensemble or dance guard class for the full school year. The course name is “P.E. Band” and will fulfill one semester of the P.E. requirement. The Brigade meets weekly Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 5:30-8:30 PM, with a few other rehearsals scheduled throughout the season. Marching Brigade teaches many things, including leadership & student cooperation. It is a great way for incoming freshmen to instantly become a part of a “family” upon entering high school.

    Academic eligibility will determine a student’s ability to participate in the Marching Brigade. If you are ineligible at the start of fall semester you will be allowed in the class but removed from certain aspects of the activity (not have a spot in the field show, etc.). Please arrange all appointments, etc. around the class schedule. If you miss the Thursday night class before a performance (for any reason) you will be unable to perform at the following performance. You will still be expected to attend the performance.

  • Black Instrumental Folder (order from Band Department)
  • Black 3 ring binder 1-1˝" with plastic sheet protectors
  • Pencils
  • Metronome
  • Tuner
  • Personal Instrument needs – mouth piece, reeds, sticks, mallets, oil, cleaning supplies etc.

  • Field Show Patches (order from Band Department) - Optional
